The position involves:

Working as part of a small team of 5 members consisting of various manual and machinery duties. 
Operating on a two-shift rotating pattern of 6am - 3pm and 3pm – 11pm Monday - Friday 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Physically Fit and capable of heavy manual tasks
  • Good attitude to work (timekeeping etc.)
  • Good team player

Optional Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience including Manual handling skills / safe working practices 
  • Forklift experience 

Training and inductions will be given for the following:

  • Be trained in, and approved for specific tasks 
  • Manual handling skills and safe working practices
  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements of the company
  • Reporting any accidents or near misses in the workplace
  • Where appropriate consult and participate in hazard identification and risk assessments
  • Management of PPE
  • Keeping work areas clean and organised
  • Safekeeping - Assure you and the rest of team members are working safety within the company’s policy’s 
  • Equipment handling - have all the necessary tools and equipment to complete each shift tasks
  • Production Reporting - to manager.

Production duties and Responsibilities (daily operations): 
Processed assigned batteries and produce lead, tops and plastic. 

  • Loading and unloading machinery
  • Manual handling of batteries - emptying bins, pallets, bulker etc 
  • Quality Control - ensuring all production is done at the quality required
  • Sorting of Materials - materials must be correctly separated and placed into bags
  • Bins Requirements – all bins designated to your shift/ schedule are to be emptied of battery’s before finishing shift
  • Production - must be completed as per given schedule
  • Completion of Production reports – These must be given to manager at the end of each shift (weight of plastic and tops produced)
  • Area Compliance - All team members must comply with the areas being kept according to H&S requirements during and after each shift ends
  • PPE – checked, replaced, maintained and cleaned after each shift 
  • Cleaning – all areas from end of bulker area to the beginning of plastic line
  • Machine Equipment Checks - check all equipment/machinery is working correctly and safety and any defects are reported, and machinery is unused until it is confirmed by tech department for safe use
  • Forklift - Responsible to use assigned forklift and return the forklift to its designated are washed with the keys handed to maintenance team (After Forklift Training has been completed)
