Enva Opens New Micro Laboratory
Date: 07 December 2007
| Enva has opened a new full service micro-analytical laboratory, which will specialise in microbiological analysis for the food, beverage, agricultural, retail, bio-pharma and environmental industries. Located separately from the water and effluent laboratory at Enva's recently constructed €4m facility in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, this micro laboratory will have five full-time employees, and will carry ISO 17025 accreditation from the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB). |
| It will allow Enva to undertake microbiological testing and examination of all food types and animal feeds for all the major pathogenic, indicator and spoilage micro-organisms, to cover due diligence, food safety, hygiene checks, and complaints. This new laboratory will also facilitate the provision of a range of microbiological testing services for well water, processing water, and ice, as well as the testing of surface waters, such as beaches, lakes, and rivers, for both individuals and businesses for regulatory compliance. |
| Emphasising that this new laboratory will considerably add to Enva’s already established laboratory and analytical capabilities, Finbarr Pyne, Technical Development Director at Enva notes; “With this new micro-laboratory, in addition to our existing water & effluent laboratory, Enva will provide top quality analysis and critical interpretation of results. We feel that customers are looking not just for results, but for advice and assistance in achieving better results, and we will provide this through our superior technical service and customer support”. |
| He added; “Whether we are analysing water, effluent or food, we have top quality personnel and facilities for advising our customers on a range of process improvements that they can make. This will compliment our business philosophy of being ‘solutions providers’ to our customers, backed up by experienced, highly qualified and professional personnel who understand that no two customers or applications are the same”. |
| In April of this year, Enva opened its new purpose built 20,000 sq ft water treatment aid production facility. This facility operates as the base for Enva’s existing water and effluent treatment operation, specialising in areas such as chemical products, dosing and control systems, activated carbon filters, and UV treatment systems. The opening of this facility also facilitated an expansion of its research and development department on the site, focussing on the testing and development of treatment options that will be implemented by onsite field specialists throughout the country. |
