Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Reporting to: General Manager, Enva Northern Ireland Ltd.
Division: Enva Northern Ireland (Drumaness & Carryduff)
Region: Based in Drumaness, but flexible for travel within Northern Ireland and occasional travel within Republic of Ireland

Part of the Environmental Division of DCC plc , Enva Northern Ireland Ltd. is a professional, leading-edge company, providing innovative, economical and environmentally sound solutions to customers for the treatment and disposal of a diverse range of wastes
Main Purpose of Role:
To assume overall responsibility for and proactively manage health safety and environment (HSE) for all activities within Enva Northern Ireland.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall HSE program to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company requirements relating to Enva activities in Northern Ireland. This would include direct responsibility for all company site licensing
- Implement and maintain the operating conditions required under the HSE related licenses, permits etc. efficiently within a commercial operation
- Chair HSE committee meetings across all sectors of the company in N.I. and to take action/ implement appropriate corrective action as necessary
- Develop, maintain, and review the HSE programme to ensure legal compliance with all current and forthcoming health, safety & environmental requirements in a timely and efficient manner
- Manage the workload and performance of a HSE administrator
- Manage all insurance / personal injury claims through contact with insurance companies, loss adjustors & solicitors
- Communicate effectively with other managers / directors on HSE issues and to actively participate in management meetings as required. This would include the ability to identify strategic or commercial challenges and opportunities relating to HSE and provide assistance in developing strategies to effectively manage these
- Provide reports as necessary to Group HSE Compliance Director and Senior management
- Support the business needs of the company through innovative and efficient approaches in achieving HSE requirements that enhance the continuing development and growth of the company
- Responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and development of the Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems operated currently and expanded as necessary
- Responsible for emergency planning and provision of high level support role in HSE emergency situations
- Manage the communication and relationship with all Regulatory Bodies to best represent the interests and intentions of the company

Educational Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience Required:
- HSE qualification
- Experience of HSE management systems
- Relevant experience in the areas outlined
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Proven ability to work on own initiative
- PC literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
Other:
Full, clean driving licence essential
